Should Jaws on Snap-on Wire Strippers be Square?

Is the offset jaw a design feature or a manufacturing defect? Wanted to check here before initiating the exchange process.

The jaws are supposed to meet squarely. Call Snap-on and offer to forward the pictures if they want them.

Call them and return it, for the price you pay for snap-on they should be perfect.

It's worse than what I was able to capture in the pictures (camera would not focus at the ideal angle). Considering the cost premium, I want it to be perfect.
