I searched and couldn’t find this mentioned anywhere, can the ramps of a 4 post lift, particularly a Bendpak, be offset more to one side during installation like in this pic I found online...or was this a home mod?

Thanks

If I had to guess, that's got to be a home mod- I would seriously just call them. That could be an expensive (physically or monetarily) lesson.:D

Why do you need an offset as such?

the width is adjustable like 6", so one ramp has two positions if I remember correctly. I have an hd9xw, so they might not all have that ability

The wide bendpak lifts have 2 positions for one of the ramps. The other is in a fixed position. Their website provides all the details.

Yup, I've got an extra wide unit and the ram side is fixed but the other can be moved in or out. An easy visual would be its 10'-3" clear between uprights, however I can't park a 8'-6"W trailer on it. Totally ***** :spit:

My BendPak HD9-B (regular height but extra wide) is built like that. Comes in handy being able to slide the right ramp to whatever width is needed.

4 posts have the hydraulics and cables under one runner so that one cannot easily be moved. The other side, however, can be relocated. As others noted, at least some bendpaks have two positions from the factory for one runner.

I have mine set at the wide setting which leaves 44" between the ramps. The other setting is 6 or 7 inches closer... so yes to the OP, that setting would leave it asymmetrical since only the non-powered side moves.
