I wasn't wanting/expecting to start another hobby but digging into some of the tools etc that I've inherited I believe I have a new one; vintage tools. I was going to sell everything but after reading up on some of the early 1900's stuff I find it very interesting. Just thinking about the people that have used these tools in the past makes me want to learn more about them.
I love to wrench on things; I'm currently going thru a 1972 C10 longbed and also building a pro touring 70 Camaro. This new hobby is keeping me from wrenching on the vehicles, but I'm enjoying learning about the history of vintage tools. I'm trying to research stuff before asking questions so please bear with me.
I'm currently doing inventory on everything I have, and will be putting some of them up for sale. I live in NE Illinois, and anyone nearby who woud like to come over and see my stuff is welcome to come have a look. I'm retired so I'm available most of the time. You will be amazed at what I fell into. Love this site, I'm totally hooked now.....

Welcome, new old-tool hoarder.

We need pics of your tool and equipment stash, and your project vehicles, especially the Camaro.

Another midwesterner hooked!! I started as a hobby to keep me busy last winter, and I wouldnt even wanna guess how many wrenches, ratchets, speeders, and boxes I've got now. Very addictive hobby, especially with all the farm auctions in the summer in midwest. Plenty of knowledge and good people on this site! Check out alley artifacts website for tons of info too! Happy collectin!!

The 70 was a 283 with a 4 speed and open 10 bolt rear end when I bought it. Now has a built 2002 LS1 that should be around 450 rwhp, Tremec Magnum 6 speed, and narrowed Ford 9 inch with 4:11 posi. Also installed C6 Z06 front brakes and 4th gen fbody rear discs. Should be a really fun car, when I finally finish it.

I just went thru all my Craftsman and S-K tools and inventoried them. Will post up what I will have for sale soon. I'm really liking the older stuff like the Williams, Billings, Snap-on, Wright, Armstrong, Plomb etc.
I have some great vintage automotive tools that I will post pictures of also.
