Oh yes, more Rust Bullet coverage

Hi folks,
Just wanted to share basically the same story as most Rust Bullet installs go.
Built 24x40x12 pole barn in April of this year, stone done in June, concrete poured in July. Vapor barrier, 4000psi, micro fiber, steel mesh screen throughout, rebar around all posts, 4" thickness throughout with approx 7" thick 3'x3' rebar enforced pads for lift install. Concrete is hand trowelled with no relief cuts.
Anyway, to the business. I wanted the least amount of prep work, and a good quality coating as I will be doing hobby grade automotive stuff in there, metal fab, composites, and some paint work.
I contacted GarageFlooringLLC for advice, and we came up with a 4 coat Rust Bullet install with fine antiskid mixed into the top coat.
We had a difficult time mitigating the roller marks we encountered, no matter how thick or thin a given coat ended up being. In the end, if you look for them, you can see coating overlap, and some roller marks, but it is also a garage floor that's going to be used.

This is a close-up of the anti skid. I am happy with the texture. I wanted safe grippy floor without feeling like it would remove skin. What I ended up with is great.

It's been about a month since the install, and we started moving stuff in. The first big test was moving the lift columns into the garage, we used an engine crane to support the floor plate heavy end of the column, with 2 people on the light end. Rolled along the flooring without issue. Stood columns up using a rubber pad to protect the floor from chipping.

Thanks guys!
The cars is question, are extremely rare early 90s Consulier GTP. They are composite bodied mid engine cars that were banned from IMSA racing.
When new they were approx 2000lbs with around 200HP.

Looks like this when complete.

Nice!

Can you make them/it street legal? Do you want to?

If I remember, they were street legal, or at least a version of them was. At the time, they were even reasonably affordable for the amount of performance offered. They were banned for being too fast, like the hemis in the old Chrysler nascars. Interestingly enough, they were also Chrysler powered

I had a similar experience with the roller marks. Its all most as if there is something in RB that is direction.

I didn't put in any anti-skid and the final texture while smooth is not slippery when wet, which while is surprised me, I'm happy about.

I have to be care dragging something heavy across it with a sharp edge, a groove can be left.

I found the final surface to be "soft" when I have to lay on it versus what I was used to with bare concrete.

Like you, I'm happy with Rust Bullet.

If you don't mind revealing, about how much do you have into the shop to get where you are now? A PM is fine too. Just compiling some build numbers. Thanks!

Curious, did you do a moisture test of the slab before putting down th RB? Reason i ask is i poured my slab in May, pressure washed it in July, but the calcium chloride tests I have done since then show my slab is still releasing too much moisture to apply RB

Not a big deal, somewhere around $26k at this point. Could be much closer to $20k if we hadnt added so many options to the building, such as overhangs, gutters, real windows, etc...
I'll shoot you a PM with a breakdown if you are interested.

The only amount of "testing" I did, was dribbling some water on the surface to see the absorption. All info I received was pointing to 30day old concrete at a minimum, so that's what I went with.

The options are what make it look so great! The isn't a bad price for what you have at all. I would love to have a basic breakdown if you don't mind. Thank you!
