So i am painting some old garage cabinets with primer and rustoleum oil based flat black paint. I know better than this but i applied a second coat about 4-5hrs after i painted the first coat. Can says it needs 24 hrs to dry. Did i just screw this up or will the paint eventually dry without peeling off? Like i said, they are just old cabinets, so they don't need to look perfect, but i just don't want the paint to come off.

Lot of time the 24 hours is so the second coat won't lift the first. If the first coat isn't lifting, you're probably OK.

Could get really weird crinkle like finish in places. It was explained to me as off gassing or something along those lines. Re spray within an hour or wait as long as you can but respect the min time from the manufacturer.
