1) those tubing looks 3/8 and it looks like it's the newer fuel lines , basically it's just a plastic shell over the old copper tubing and uses 45 deg single flares I think... saw them on HD near my parent's the other week...
2) it looks like your filter is on top of the tank? instead of the traditional on the bottom... you sure that pickup tube is deep enough ? If I remember correctly the guy that install this type of flex line setup with the filter on top for me (before I converted to gas) told me that the tube does not go all the way to the bottom of the tank....just in case it picks up sludge on the bottom of the tank.. and told that if the tank is less than 1/4 I should consider it empty in this setup.
There is that bolt on that last pic of the filter on the right side... that is normally the bleeder screw for the filter I think... if the next time it happens, and you crack that bolt first ... it draws a vacuum... I think you have a no fuel condition , not sure if tiger loop fixes that.
