So I kind of bought a MAC tools Tool tote MBT10-B as a spur of the moment gift to myself. For when my mobile tool bag dies I will end up making the metal tote my mobile tool tote. Since I use the tools in the bag more then any at home. My home box is kind of storage since I do most of the car work at other places.
It's about 20inches long 5inces tall/deep and 10 wide.
I have thought about making it my oil change and basic maintenance kit.
I am thinking a 3/8 socket set for drain plugs, a 3/8 ratchet, Rags, New oil filters for the vehicles and maybe the oil filter pliers/cups.
I might throw a air gage in there as well.
I am wondering if you all where making a kit like this what you would throw in there??
I mean it's not needed but gives the tote a use until it's intended purpose comes into play. :Mr.T::Mr.T:

Marker. I mark my filters with date and mileage (old habit from the service). I also have a log but still do this anyway plus its handy for quick notes and at some point Murphy's Law says you'll need one.

Socket and/or wrench as well as a wire brush for your battery terminals.

I do always write the date on the filter and on paper. I also have the little window stickers to write service date next, mileage and what kind of oil to use. $10 very well spent for I think 100 of them.
I admit I need to get a wire brush like that I haven't had one but agree that is a good thing to get!!

3 inch extention i have found a few cars that have an obstruction for use with ratchet directly on socket. Also i am a bit OCD so a cheapo torque wrench.

I use a label maker to make a label that says, "Next oil change at ***,*** miles and stick it on the plastic radiator fan shield or metal radiator support so I can see it every time I open the hood.

I used to do that and put it on the very top edge of the windshield (inside) just in front of the headliner so the driver could check it and reference when it needed to come in. It didn't seem to create much distraction when viewing the road.

If doing oil changes offsite, I'd want a couple bales of paper towels and some waterless hand-cleaner along for the ride. And a nice piece of cardboard to lie on, as offsite its likely going to be done off the driveway, etc.
