You could even go cheaper and toss a few pig mats down to catch the drips when changing oil as well then toss when done.

I use large cardboard boxes. I always keep several in my plywood rack.

Just down the street from me is an electronics / appliance shop that has a cardboard dumpster full of HDTV boxes and the like that are super thick (>1" with just the ends opened up so it folds flat) and comfortable to crawl on and many have a shiny/glossy side that is at least somewhat moisture-resistant that helps keep any spills from soaking through to the driveway and easy to wipe clean. The HDTV boxes in particular tend to be strong and tend to last through quite a few uses before they become destined for the cardboard recycling dumpster.

Best thing is they are free.
