The ones that stick to your windshield. Can you get them somewhere? I do my own oil changes, but the stickers are a handy reminder.

How the heck do I get to this stage in my life, working on cars all the time, and not know that! Thanks guys. I will pick some up.

I just put a piece of duct tape under the hood on the inner fender and write the mileage and date I last changed the oil on that with a permanent marker.

I had this same question about a year ago. I couldn't find them for sale anywhere. I wanted to have a roll on hand so I didn't have to run to the parts stores for each oil change since I stock up on oil when it's on sale. I saw oreillys auto had a roll hanging by the oil so I took about 20 of them. Will have to be going back soon to get more.

I just change the oil at an easy to remember mileage interval.

My truck and car both have 7,500 mile changes. So it evens out every 15,000 miles.

Also easy to count by 3000's if you are one of those. It's real easy if you do 5000 or 6000 mile changes.

Do you have a trip A and a trip B on your odometer? Use B for oil change intervals. I use A for gas mileage.

I do the new truck every 5k, makes it easier to remember.

Just a caution to those who rely on the oil life indicator in the dash, some of the software is proving to be wildly optimistic, don't forget to check the oil level regularly.

Do you really need them for the "1/4 mile at a time" trips you take?!?! :)

LOL. More for the daily drivers. But I am just about done with the engine. Will be track ready soon. Even powder coated some stuff to keep it pretty.
I will make a point of getting ahold of you when we are going to be in the area. Same to you if you are in this neck of the woods.

I have a notepad & pen in the glovebox of all my vehicles. I log all the major service items when they're done & mileage they're done at. Works for me.

If you want to be fancy talk to a sign shop. They can print a custom label up with what ever you want on it. They will make it the size you want and you can normally pay by the foot. I think I paid about $21.00 for aproximately 200 of thes labels.

write mine on the inside of a storage cabinet door in the shop. Everything I got. Cars, trucks, tractors, mowers, powerwasher, etc. Run out of room, paint over it, start over.

Nkachur, you're crazy (I mean that in a good way).

I must have those made. What material is the label printed on?

I forget what they called it but it is the same non-adhesive stuff the oil change places use sticks to any smooth surface. Removes with no residue.

I found some at advance auto. I got a new jeep and did a oil change and forgot to grab some as we used all ours.

Ask the parts counter person, they have them but you have to ask. They never just give them to you. I know Beck/Arnley filters comes with one in every box.

I use these on my wife's and my daughter's car and on my truck. Hang them off the shift lever or turn signal lever. Oil change on one side and tire rotation on the other. Just cross out the mileage and write the new mileage reminder on each side. You can get about 4 oil changes out of each one.

I use a Brother P-Touch Label Maker and post mine on the inside of the door. For when the doors are off on the Jeep I then resort to my maintenance file in Microsoft Excel.

I just hung up a small chalkboard from my favorite beer maker, and use that to put the mileage and dates of oil changes for each of my four cars. I also add info about tire rotations. real easy and it looks good... plus nothing stuck to my car windows.

Which ones are optimistic? I've run a couple GMs that I'd rate about right and my Grand Marquis is overly cautious. This is mostly Interstate use. I don't know how the oil change indicators handle normal vehicle use.
