My MIL came over and her car has an oil leak. Left a few nice stains in our driveway over the last week.

What’s the best way to clean oil spots?

Thanks!!!

Break clean works pretty good.

Put some absorb all down first to let it soak up as much as possible and then hit it with break cleaner.

I've had good look with kitty litter. Let it soak up the majority, scrub it into the driveway, always seemed to work good.

Liberal application of waterless hand cleaner. Glob it on and walk away. In a few days it is all gone. CJDave.

Spray a little brake cleaner on the area. I’m 69 and a twenty year old kid taught me the trick a few weeks ago.

Works incredibly well.

Gasoline works pretty well. It wouldn't surprise me if you're not supposed to do that, though.

Oil dry and a broom has always worked for me or cat litter that isn’t clay based even if the spot has been there for a while it still works I cleaned a spot in my driveway after a week with it and it is gone now

Fresh male urine sprayed at medium velocity works well but usually gets the neighbors wound up.

Oil eater.

With one bit of caution applied full strength and not rinsed off will etch the surface. I had a bottle tip over in a boat and run out the deck drain onto the shop floor and a week later found a dinner plate sized oops on the shop floor.

I’ve been trying to clean up some transmission fluid for about a week. Not a huge spot by any stretch, but after a similar thread I picked up some oil eater. After two applications, there is still a small stain. The picture makes it look worse than it is, but I just cannot get it to disappear. The surrounding area is very clean from a powdered laundry detergent/Dawn slurry. I’ll try some pour and restore next if anybody ever has it in stock.
