I'm looking for a pan similar to this whose cap will not come loose during an oil change. Something reliable, that'll last a long time.

I use a basic plastic bucket with a pour lip and large funnel back into into its 5 qt. original containers. The pan/container combo style you show is a failed mess from the start.

I went to Lowe's and bought a 3 gallon bucket with the lid that seals and has a spout. Best "catch pan" I've ever had. When it's full I put the lid on and take it down to oreillys and pour it out.

Never had any luck with those short pans.

Same here. I had a 1985 John Deere riding mower that had a brass ball valve at the bottom of the engine with a short length of rubber hose. I'd just feed the hose into my container, and turn the ball valve which had a small "T" handle. Slickest set up I've ever seen, and I'm going to do it on my Kubota BX 2200, My John Deere 990, My 1994 Toyota trucks and my 1993 International.

I've got my welder set up like this. Very handy when it's on the truck and has limited access

I like the pour baffle on some of those. I dump in to an open pail so its not a big deal but the snout would really be a step saver to go to a jug.

most of the ones with the caps and lids are hokey and the oring material is not viton so they swell and leak when they get exposed to gas/oil etc. i haven't found a good one yet.

aside from the roll around drain buckets we have a bunch of these. It will hold 15 qts of diesel oil no prob. but it doesn't have a lid so it doesnt really fit your bill.

I'm aware of that. But the next ten posters are going to say it's the exact same thing as a lisle with a different name on it

COO for the Hazet is Taiwan. COO for the Lisle is USA (I think). So very likely similar products by different manufacturers.

I've been using this one from NAPA for several years. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_8215039

It's alright. The cap has come loose a couple times and leaked a bit. It's easy to empty into a milk jug with a funnel.I accidentally got it too close to the catalytic converter once and it burned a hole in the top. Used JB Plastic Weld putty and it hasn't leaked so there's that.

That Garage Boss looks nice! May be time for an upgrade.

Same cap fail as the Captain (post#11). I like the single container approach: drain and transport.

Still looking for a good one.

I use a plastic cement mixing trough from any home improvement store to drain the vehicle and then pour that into my returnable platic 5 gallon container.
