I am finally assembling an old Bear 1469 Brake Lathe.

partial manual:https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwid_MeDronTAhWK7IMKHYiyBiUQFgg4MAU&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aescosc.com%2Fpdfs%2Fbear_eq_1469_%2520lathes.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHaEKhheq6xzO-TDz6o6jFFJ-_t0A)

I have no manual and can not find a complete one on the net.

The Lathe Spindle is more or less an oil bathed gear with wet bearings.

I am wondering what oil is typically specified for this unit?

Oils today are so much better than what was available when this lathe was made that any 90 wt gear oil would probably be fine.
