What happens when you have a little bit of oil in your gasolne for your 4-stroke engine? At what point (%) would the oil interferes with the operation of the engine?

I cant imagine it would be very bad in small amounts, as you go larger, you get smoke and carbon build up.

Gas in the oil is the thing you have to worry about.

I usualy pour my remaining boat mixture into my Tahoe in the fall. 6 gallon tank at 50:1, then fill up 20 gal or so, so the mixture is pretty small, but I never have seen any smoke or problems.

I dump the chainsaw gas into my truck when it gets old, never noticed a thing. Then again, I refuse to run anything but smokeless oil in a 2 stroke, anyway. We used to make all the guys that wouldn't run the smokeless stuff ride in the back of the pack when we were on sleds.

Small amounts will not hurt anything. Over time and that is a long time it can poison the catalytic converter and maybe mess with the O2 sensors.

A little bit of upper cylinder lubrication won't harm the engine.

Why do you ask?

someone help me get gas for my 4-stroke snow blower. He took my 2-stroke pre-mixed container. It was not totally empty.

I've run my 4T weedwacker on a mix of 100LL avgas with a hint of Castrol R. Doesn't seem to do any harm & makes my horticultural genocide smell so much ncer:)
