Good evening. Looking for insight on an issue I came across today while staining my floor. My plan was to use H&C semi transparent grey stain to create an acid stain look and then follow it up with Legacy clear epoxy and urethane.
So here's some background info on the prep. I degreased the entire floor ans scrubbed with a brush. I pre-soaked any spots which I thought may have had oil prior. I then power washed prior to using the Diamabrush.
After power washing I hadn't noticed any water beading. Fabulous! I thought. After the Diamabrush the floor looked great. No signs of potential issues.
After I applied the H&C semi transparent stain several spots beaded up and as the pictures show its evident these spots aren't fully clean. Now I am in a dilemma.
First, are these oil spots ans how should I correct it?
Second, I am leaning to ditching the stained look and do a colored epoxy with flake to hide imperfections in the slab.
Third, anyone looking for 5 gallons of Legacy SD clear epoxy?

** Pic 3: After 2 rounds of Diamabrush
