I received a Craftsman air ratchet from a widow. I would like to know what is the best oil for this tool. I'm very new at air tools as this is my first venture into this world!! Thanks.

I've always used transmission fluid. My air tools are 40 years old and there have been no problems. These tools have been used in a commercial shop for most of that time.

Any air tool oil will work: Snap On brand (it was cheap and there), Paslode, Marvel Mystery Oil (for air tools), etc.

I agree. Any brand of air tool oil and a bottle will last a looooooong time. I've also used 3in1 oil too. A nice light oil. Whichever you use, just a couple of drops will lube it fine. You'll enjoy using an air ratchet. Since you are new to air tools, break the fastener loose "manually" and then hit the trigger to speed it out. After a little practice and it becomes one motion And, welcome to the forum!!
