ok i am helping a close family friend go thru her and her husbands buisness after he passed away and try to sell some things. although i do not like to admit it i am a little out of my league. to start off i have some compressors

1 dayton compressor model 32966 2 stage 5 hp single phase

1 sanborn compressor mode; 500a60 5hp 60gallon single phase

also have a bunch of carbon dioxide tanks that are filled. any idea what these could be worth? some may be out of inspection are these just scrap.

any help would be great. i know this might not be the place to ask about tanks but i thought i would try.

I have the same Dayton compressor, I bought it new in '89 for something like $1700 from Grainger, it has been a workhorse and hasn't failed me once. Not sure what it would go for now.

1.) Check ebay or the like on those. The market is going to be pretty limited I think. Not something that your average home guy is going to have. I believe those are high pressure breathing air compressors for filing scuba tanks and the like.

2.) $300- ~$750 depending on condition both appearance and running. This would appeal to the home shop crowd, especially the fact that it is single phase.

3.) $100-~$325 rest same as #2

4.) Kind of a strange setup. What type of work did he do in this shop? The tanks are going to be really hard to price. What did he use them for? Looks like a high pressure fill tank setup? Or some type of manifolded bulk storage. Was he pumping air into them or some other gas? Then what was the high pressure gas used for?

5.) The Co2 tanks are going to depend on who they legally belong to and the local shops in the area. Lots of large tanks are actually owned by the company and leased to the users. Therefore if someone purchases a leased tank then tries to get it fill the owner company may confiscate it. I think those are going to be real hard to sell unless you can 100% prove that they can be filled without issues. If so ~$50-~$100 each. If not, looking at scrap value.

The high pressure machines will be of no use for the regular garage. If you think a two stage compressor parts are high, wait to you have to buy a part for one of these.
Not to mention Bauer is a ***** to work with. You're going to have to look at the specialty high pressure segment of air compressors to get some good direction for pricing.

I cant remember the name of the company but there is a business that makes replacement parts for high pressure compressors mainly bauer. They make literally everything other than castings for the newer model bauer pumps and for a fraction of bauer price.
