OK, How about Night Owl Security cameras ??

My previous thread about Swann cameras convinced be to go wired but it looks like everyone hates the Swann app for looking at the cameras remotely.

So how about Night Owl ? How is their app ? Anyone here have it for a real review ?

The night owl app is actually decent, it's pretty easy to use and scroll around the footage.

I noticed that is the brand another GJ member here that lives by me uses. He was saying how their app is pretty good and easy to use (compared to other brands) for the price range.

Check out Milestone. We use it at work. We have their "pay to use" version because we have so many cameras, but you can use up to 8 cameras on Milestone for free.

Do you have a budget in mind? I am Axis communications certified and would be more than willing to give you recommendations on equipment to put a system together with axis products.

Whats wrong with the Swann app ??
also depends on WHICH model you have to which App you use !!
mine works fine, and can even use it on my PC
view cameras, pull up alert & recorded footage
watch 1 camera, 4, 16, etc...
no issues for me using 'SwannView Link'

I too use Swann view Link have you every tried to review 24/7 recorded video? they don't offer a fast forward on the app just local to the dvr. Not to mention if you want to watch video from 6:20-6:30am it pulls all the footage from 6am to 7am so its pretty useless to review video from anything other than the dvr

I run a VPN server on my network (a lot easier than it sounds) and use tinycam on my Android to view them, but with the VPN you can use any app you want to use.

Whats wrong with the Swann app ??

Not sure. Just going by some of the responses I got on my other thread. I mainly need to be able to look at the cameras from my phone and get alerts if they sense anything. Nothing fancy. Needs to be dependable.

Sounds like you are happy with it ?
