I've been looking on Craigslist for a looooong time for an 25ish gallon air compressor. I even posted about a used oil-less Craftsman Pro compressor a few weeks ago for $200. It fit my needs and fit my price range. My enthusiasm cooled when I asked about it here... so I let it pass. (I later saw the seller drop the price to $150)

I stopped by Sears on my way home just to check things out and I saw this with a clearance tag for $345. The regular price is $529.99 but seems to be endlessly $499.99 on sale. I've been wanting this one for long time but just couldn't justify $500 for a compressor.

And... There's some kind of sale on sunday so I can get an additional 10% off. So, my end price will be $312ish plus tax. I even got a decent hose out of the deal too.

How'd I do? I think I did pretty good. I'm not sure about a "you ****" price but I think I did ok. It looks pretty minty and still had the protective plastic on the gauges. It's not even dusty. It's full of oil (I checked) and I ran it up to pressure before I rolled it into the garage. Everything seems to work perfect.

That is a good price for a new oil-lubed compressor. I paid $300 for a Husky oil-less with a air tool set in 2004 and it served me good until I got a Speedaire. I would rather have yours than a new oil-less.

At least here in Chicago, you could use if for a few years and still sell it for what you paid for it. People here don't seem to like the Craftsman Pro compressors but I have been happy with mine. It runs quiet and has not had any problems. I love mine.
