OK, So Something other than HF

Looking for ODB2 reader for Son. Not thrilled what Zurich offers for the price.

Most bang for the buck. Less than $125 maybe a little more.


Codes, ABS (Asian, Domestic) maybe SRS

So far the Foxwell NT630 looks like it might get the job done and are on eBay for around $100

I was looking at some OTC scan tools on tooltopia. They had a CAN OBD2 SRS ABS unit that was pretty reasonable. It was cheaper than the comparable Zurich at HF. Can't remember now what one. But go to tooltopia and look under OTC scan tools and you will find it there.

I would think an Autel (615 I think) would do what you need and are very reasonable.

I know you said no bluetooth, but you should REALLY consider Bluedriver. It works every time, and it works great. None of the issues you have connecting with the cheap bluetooth adapters. Trust me, he'll love it

I have the Veepeak bluetooth from Amazon and use the Torque Pro app on Android, and have not had any issues. I keep it in the car for a convenient code scanner on the go, and can also read data from the ECU.

To what extent do you need the functionality beyond a basic code scanner and the ability to clear codes?

I'm using an older model OBDLink from ScanTool. https://www.scantool.net/

It's been a great device. I bought the laptop software for it which has come in handy a time or two but Torque Pro for Android on my cell phone does most anything I need it to do.

Think this may be out of the price range of the OP. I was thinking about getting this one soon. But this is the one I was referencing. Im ordering it after Christmas.
