Never used the Snap-on gun, but i have two 2135s and i couldn't be happier with them. quiet, powerful, light, extrememly comfortable etc.. really don't have a single complaint about them i especially like the forward/reverse switch that you can do one-handed with your thumb. when you're holding a part in place and realise the gun's in reverse you'll be grateful for that feature. i have been many times. (including today, doing complete front suspension on a new beetle)

untimately, it's what you think yourself. but i've used other Snap-on guns and other IR guns, and i'd take the IR ones over the Snap-on ones every time. they're more ergonomic, more compact etc. despite the composite housings, they're extremely robust and don't even sratch easily. mine have a few marks here and there. and that's a year or tyre shop abuse, people dropping them, me kicking them out the way and so on. very good guns.

Get the 2135 and never look back. We have 3 of them in my shop.

Agree. I have the 3/8 2115Ti and that one is a great gun. I'm sure the 1/2 drive version is all its cracked up to be. Save that $100 and put it towards some other "needs"

Love the quiet tools, it is worth it.

We use both. At places where IR is a long drive and Snap on comes to us we use Snap On like other Snap On things it is worth the bucks at times for heavy use. Other places with a good IR dealer we use IR. Both serve well. None routine use save the bucks but consider the QT one. The first one I tried was this is so much nicer.

I have the 2115ti as well. I use it everyday. It and my 2135ti are my most used tools. I am a big IR fan. I have those two impacts as well as the 1/4" impact and 1/4" air ratchet. They all perform great.

I gotta say, one of hte main reasons I got the MG725 is the made in USA label.. A few things about it seem better, but it's going to be a rare bird that I find a bolt that the IR can't take of that the MG725 can.

I have the MG725 and the IR2135TI. The MG725 is faster, stronger, louder, and heavier than the 2135TI. I still reach for the 2135TI first because, I like the way it fits my hand better, it's lighter, has better balance, and feels like an natural extension of my arm/hand. It does a great job for me day in and day out. I use the MG725 on difficult fasteners such as rusted axle nuts, etc. I think Snap on worked a vast improvement over the XT7100 with the MG725 but, they could have done better with the weight, balance, and feel in the MG725. I feel both guns are great. Your results may vary. I just feel that if you're going to lug and use an impact all day long, the 2135TI is easier on my body.I don't think the MG725 is worth a hundred more than the 2135TI but, if you shop around you can whittle that $100 down. I'm looking for a 2135TIMAX myself, and when I stumble on one below $200 I'll get it too. You can't go wrong with either gun.

I have the snapon xt7100 and I have used a buddys 2135ti. I like the xt7100 better myself. I think they will both do anything you will need to do, it's just personal prefrence and which is more comfortable to you. I say try both then decide.

Just ordered the 2135timax. $248 with bag, cover, gloves and a Ken Onion Chive knife by Kershaw.

I know you already decided, but for future readers, the 2135TiMax (at least to me) is a much better designed and much more ergonomic gun than the Snapon.

Get the quiet if you want, but the regular's not too loud. (Again, for me anyways)
