Looking to put a furnace in my pole barn, hopefully within the next 4-6 weeks. Finishing up the walls and ceiling now. Here's what I got...

30' x 48', 14' high
R19 walls, R30ish ceiling (will be putting in blown-in, hoping for at least 13 inches thick) w/ moisture barrier
2 10' wide x 12' high insulated overheads
1 steel entry door
2 double pane windows (app. 20" x 48")
Needs to be propane fueled
50 degree rise in temperature

I am very confused on what size to get- different websites give me different results. Am leaning toward forced air, but am open to other suggestions. Would like something I can install myself. Also would like recommendations on where to buy (I am near Chicago if something is close).

Thanks!!!!!- Steve

My vote is for a gas-fired radiant tube heater...it's like working under the sun...no noise... no drafts.

I have a 30X50 but I only heat 1100 sq. ft. with an 80K Superior UA series heater... it's too big for me but would be good for your 1500. sq. ft.

here's some good info... www.superiorradiant.com
