I use O’Keefe’s as well, mainly because it’s one of the few lotions that don’t leave my hands greasy, which I absolutely HATE. Interesting reading some of the recommendations here, I might have to try some of them. Thanks for sharing everyone.

if your fingers and heels crack be sure to keep an eye on your blood sugar after meals. I always tested normal but had cracked fingers and heels sometimes. The doctors always were saying use lotion etc., but guess what, I was pre-diabetic and didn't know it, and the tests weren't picking it up - yet. Since I got my blood sugar under control the cracking stopped, no more need for lotion. Just saying it can point to an underlying illness that hasn't been diagnosed yet. If they had caught it in my 20's or 30's, which is when it started, it could have been controlled solely with diet my whole life - I am 71 now. I was able to control it for about 15 years once we found it, but the damage caused in those early years catches up because it kills pancreas cells every time it is too high. Simple test is 120 - 130 or lower 2 - 3 hours after eating a meal with heavy carbs.

Bag Balm works well too. Takes a while to absorb into the skin but the results are fantastic. When I used to have really bad cracking skin on my hands I would cover them with Bag Balm and put tube socks over my hands before I went to sleep. Wake up in the morning and it really helped to soothe.

They even sell it at Harbor Freight!............. much cheaper than CVS where I purchased it. I was going to CVS for other items though.

Good to know HF carries it, maybe gives me another excuse to go there ;)

edit ,, didn't see @Rickster had already mentioned HF.

Two tips.

1) This has been available at Target stores for at least two years.

2) If your hands are really bad, coat them liberally with any lotion of your choice and then immediately put on your choice of disposable powder-free gloves (nitrile, vinyl, etc.). Works great to do before you go to bed, but depending on your daily activities it can be done while you go about your day.

I've been using O Keefe's for a few years now. Just rub a little on my hands after I shower. My fingers used to crack pretty bad during the winter when all the humidity here went away, this stuff keeps that from happening. happy I found it. They make a squeeze bottle version as well, but I prefer the can.

^^^THIS! I've been using Working Hands in the winter for over a decade now. Best hand cream ever. I particularly like that it is unscented and doesn't leave your hands greasy.

Got O'Keefes as a stocking stuffer last year. My problem was my feet. This stuff fixed them up right away. I was amazed. I use it everyday.

I use the hand stuff regularly. I think all of there products are good.

I first saw it when the Duluth Trading store opened in the area. They had hand and feet versions. Can not tell you the difference in them make up wise, but both work well. They also have a dry lips tube. Works better than any chapped lip balm I have ever used.

I like Bag Balm although I always wonder why it says " not for sale in Alberta" on the can. Its for cow udders but who knows what Albertan's slather it on.

Based on reviews here I got some for my wife, who is in the medical field and likely washes her hands over 100 times a day. She likes it, says it doesn't sting when she puts if on like other creams do. Just showed me how much better her skin looked.

I will look into the overnight lotion as well.

I've been using Stokoderm forever. It forms a barrier between the hands and any solvent that I work with (mainly mineral spirits), plus it makes hand washing a lot easier. I tried O'Keefes and it was nowhere as good for me.
