I had bought an old cast iron air compressor pump. I am trying to find information about it. I bought just the pump and do not know what engine was paired with it or who the manufacturer is. The only stamp I could find has 302 853 over the oil drain plug. I have some pictures for visual aide.

With a three groove pulley, it will not be a small motor or engine.

What is your intended use for the compressor and what size tank will you be mounting it on?

Definitely a refrigeration compressor. And they don't make good air compressors because they're designed to carry oil with the refrigerant and therefore the pistons have no oil rings.

These Brunner compressor can be converted for air compressor use by plugging a passage to isolate the crank case from the top end. This is an R-2000. The R line pumps had the same piston rings as the A line (i.e. A-2000 air compressor). This pump has 2 compressor rings and an oil ring on each piston. They will work just as well as one built for air use
