Can anyone give me any info about this air dryer? A local guy is selling it and doesn't know anything about it. Would it be worth buying? Any idea what the little contraption above the two large cylinders is? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I know Knothing! It looks like a dryer/fitler combination. Are there any markings on it?

Will the current owner let you disassemble it? I'd go that rout, measure everything and google if there are no markings.

Dave.

How much is he wanting for it?

Got a bigger picture? The thumbnail is only slightly smaller than the picture when I click on it.

Sorry that is the only pic he sent me. I am thinking I can get it pretty cheap. He told me to make an offer. I just don't want to buy it and have no way to use it. I guess my best bet is to go look at it and tear it apart.

It's double filtered for taste and clarity...

It looks like it's some sort of desiccant dryer. If the media is still in it you might be able to bake the moisture out of it and use it. If the canisters are empty, it's just a filter and what looks like an oiler on top. Probably couldn't go wrong for $20 - the filters are worth that.

With all the stuff on top it looks like a desiccant unit. (They Dry GOOD) but they are noisy as He** . They blow down one cylinder at a time to regenerate the desiccant, continuously drying blowing down and regenerating.

You guessed it Grumpy! I want and took a look at it today. It is a regenerating desiccant unit. The two filters are used to filter the air before it enters the dryer and after it leaves. The look to be mounted upside down in the photo because the whole unit is upside down. The **** on top of the two cylinders is the valves and control for the regenerating action. I bought the whole setup for 10 bucks! Now I just gotta get it all cleaned up and figure out how to get it working. Appears to be a simple 110v hookup. Still no idea who makes it.
