While at a car show here in London I bought these at a stall selling old tools the 14" bolt cutters are made by H.K.PORTER Boston and have a patent date of 1923 but dont know the actual age of them. They look and work fantastic the other buy was a wire stripper made by PYRAMID of Chicago with patent date of 1914 again they work great.
A good day.

I've used a Porter cutter for forty years now and it was old when I bought it. If ever disassembling it to sharpen the cutters, be aware there are left-hand threads on the left hand handle.

The HKP bolt cutters are good tools. I have had mine for 30 years or so. Got 'em at an auction with alot of other old stuff. I did chip one once, but it still works.
The strippers are really nice. I've been looking for another set as mine were lost in a fire. They worked much nicer than the new, chinsy ones.

HK Porter is renowned for their Bolt cutters, I've got the same style pair but in the 36" length. Even the new Aluminum framed bolt cutters that Porter is making, are better than the Steel framed import ****!
