Old and almost destroyed car radio

A friend has an unusual Hebmuller Cabriolet from 1949 which was equipped with a Telefunken MW/SW radio around 1953. He spent 15 years restoring the Hebmuller, which is a VW that a coachbuilder company rebuilt. Quite unusual. And the restoration is perfect and true to the original. No Garage Monkey "improvements"
And I restored the radio which was in a sorry state. But now back in service after lots of work.

Well that's interesting - the dial on the radio goes from higher frequencies to lower, left to right, while here in the states, the lower frequencies would be at the left end of the dial.

The orientation is in wavelength. High frequency, short wavelength.

Looks nice. A factory radio always looks the best to me.

The corrosion damage was caused by moisture and galvanic currents. The chroem plated sleeves on the tube sockets has a different potential from the galvanized steel chassis.
I never modify the circuits to get FM or blue tooth.
