Hi all!
I've been searching for an anvil for the past 10 years, but those things are quite rare here in Hawaii. Especially after the sugar plantation era has ended and all blacksmith shops fell by the wayside. A fellow in the neighborhood stopped by and offered up an anvil he bought several years ago. Will try to upload a pic, when I find a site to host it to. It's on my Facebook page; VW 009 Distributor Discussion (for those who delve into the FB site. It weighs 110 lbs, as cast into both sides of the body. I'll check the underside for any clues. The top has the hardy hole and a pit in the casting that I'd like to weld up. What welding rod does anyone recommend?
I searched many posts to find out if there's a page on anvil discussions or identification information, but none found.
Thanks and have a great Labor Day Weekend!
John

You can upload photos directly to this website. Just hit the “go advanced” tab and then the “manage attachments” tab. This will allow you to upload pictures.

Thanks for the tip about the Anvils in America book, and the link to uploading pictures! I added an album and uploaded more pics of my anvil.
