So this thing popped up for $20 on my local Craigslist today. Seller doesn't know anything about it other than he used it to do suspension bushings twice. Doesn't know make or model or anything. Still, for $20 I'm probably going to look at it after work tomorrow.

Just wondering if anybody can give me an idea of the make by picture only. I'm gonna do some research with a Google image search. Thanks in advance.

I have one that looks identical which is a import made by Jet. I gave $25 for it and it was missing the swivel plate.

Wound up getting the press after work today. When I showed up it was right much bigger in real life than I would have guessed from the lone pic on Craigslist. Guessing it weighs over 100 pounds. Only marking on it is "smsd 17470". Appears to have been used very little but has a crappy half-done paint job and some surface rust on the handle; and the handle is slightly bent. I'm thinking it is probably a 3 ton model.

That tag is an inventory tag from the company that owned it. They would use it for accounting/tax purposes as what they owned.

I stroked one of those thousands of times in the late 1970s pushing seals into lower units at OMC Stern Drive (Johnson and Evinrude boat motors). Bleh!
