Old Barn Haul

Friend of a friend passed away. Family took what they wanted out of his old barns and let the rest. My good friend bought the barn and let me get what I wanted out of it.

I did not bother with pictures of the 30 plus paint brushes, packages of heat shrink tubing, duct tape, the boxes and boxes of sandpaper. Did I mention the ol guy used to sort out the dumpsters at a 3M plant? I did not bother with pictures of the PortaCable sanders, Eastman ratchets( made in USA), nor the log chains, buckets of drywall screws and such.

So here are the 1 1/2 ton hoist, pile of C-Clamps, Dayton 8hp grinders, the wood vises and air foot pedal. All the grinders work great. I was able to piece together what you see here.

Total cost? What is cost me in gas to drive the 12 miles each way. :)

Seven Cleveland Woodworking vises
One Rock Island Wood woking vise
One Aurora Richards Wilcox vise
Lot one of the large C Clamps ( to lazy to bring down)
Two Blacksmith Post vises. 6" and 4 1/2 " jaws complete
Rigid air compressor. works great, just needed a cover for the pressure switch
Two of the 8 Hold downs, weird camera angle. both same size approx 9 inches to top of base
One well used but perfectly functional Machinist vise 4: jaws

Good job on the wood vises! You don't want paint/primer on the flats(ways?) on this vise, it could affect opening/closing if tolerances are tight.

One of your vises is a Rock Island. Does it have a model number? I have a Rock Island #465 that I am trying to learn more about. Anything would be helpful.

That's a haul all right! But did you mean eight 1hp grinders? They don't look nearly big enough to be 8hp.

And those woodworking vises, if they're Columbian 10 inchers (or wiltons made by columbian), (the one closest to the camera is not) they are worth some significant $$. Well worth the effort to set up an e-tank to derust and refurbish.

Oops, ya beat me to it.
