Found this old grinder at a thrift store and it followed me home. Just curious if anyone has any info on it, especially how old it might be? It could be used as a line tool with a flat belt and still has the grease cups on it. Made by Luther.

It was just the grinder, I mounted it pretty flimsily to my bench and found a 1/4 horse motor to power it just to see if it worked and it works GREAT!

Nice old piece of machinery! Those often ran in big shops which had one central power supply, like coal-fired steam engine outside. The engine drove one big belt, which drove a big crankshaft which ran the whole length of the shop, and sometimes turned corners, or even branched off into other sections of the building. Then lots of smaller belts powered machines like this grinder. Cool beans!
