Don't do much bodywork, but could not say no to this old Blackhawk Porta power. 75 bucks, guy's Dad was a body man in central PA in the 60's, going to try to rebuild it. Anyone have any info on it?

Pump on only has F4-10 on body and F4-12 on pump linkage.
Small cylinder has R168 2T on it
Bigger cylinder has T1176
Spreader has 579-9 on one side, A 127.005 on other

Have you read the sticky at the top of this forum?

http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197787

You've got an assortment of types & maybe brands there. Almost all can be useful. Check to see if all the 'slip fit' type components are the same diameter. Not all brands are the same however, if you've got a lathe (or a buddy) you can make simple adapters so all brands can play nice together.

Don't just think body work. Think lift, push, press, stretch, bend whatever.

Hey Buckgnarley !
I'm new to the forum. I inherited a very similar Blackhawk Porta power from my dad. He was a Body mechanic from 1950 - 2000. All the serial numbers are rubbed off from use.
The local hydraulic shops, rub their heads and tell me to throw it out and buy new. I would like to refurbish and use it for sentimental reasons.
How were you been able to id your set?
Where if I may ask did you find repair parts?

You will find many uses for that. I'd say you did great at that price.

He sure did, he got way more pieces than came with it. I had one I picked up for cheap, but some thieves got it out of my shed.

Have not messed with it yet, a new garage build and many other things have put it on hold...plus I grabbed another kit that came with a nice metal box and works great. I use this place for my seal kits and manuals though, LOTS of good stuff on here....

Will update it IF and WHEN I get to it.....probably this Winter in my new heated 24x32 garage!:rocker:
