Does anyone know what these wrenches were designed for? They are heavy and stout. I thought they were made for heavy equipment or hydraulics. They belonged to my uncle. They are made by Bonney and are marked:

Bonney (8) 1 1/4
Bonney (7) 1 1/16
Bonney (5) 7/8
Bonney (3) 11/16
Bonney (1) 1/2.

I assume there are at least 8 wrenches in the set and that I am missing numbers 6, 4, and 2. I am not sure what sizes are missing since there isn’t a pattern between the number and size. Maybe 6 is 1”, 4 is 3/4, and 2 is 5/8 or 1/2. I have found a couple of #8 wrenches on eBay, but that’s it.

I am curious what they were made for and their age. Any info is appreciated.
