I need to replace a broken clamp screw in an antique vise. It's a 3/8 - 14, and not available at the usual suspects like McMaster Carr. I figure the only place I'm going to find it will be on an old c-clamp - I couldn't bear to sacrifice another vise to fix mine! It's most likely to show up on a clamp old enough to have a skate key or Mickey Mouse handle rather than the modern slide-bar handle. This would probably show up on a smaller clamp. 3"or under. Hopefully someone has a broken clamp so I can scavenge with a clear conscience! I need about 3" of thread,3 1/2" overall
I think an M10-1.75 thread would be close enough, but no dice finding all-thread or a bolt inh that size either.
To answer the obvious question, no, my lathe won't cut 14 tpi. I'd rather have old stuff anyway.
