I'm sure specifics will vary from locale to locale, but, in general, do you folks know of anyone who buys old car batteries?

I've got three of them that are toast.

New batteries always have core charges, so I'm hoping there's someplace I can take these and get a few bucks, instead of just free recycle.

Places like Interstate or All-Pak will give you at least $6 each for car batteries. Bigger ones will get you more money. Do NOT throw them away.

Re-Cycle and put some money in your pocket!

prices for used batteries are all over the place around here, from a recycler that pays $1 ea, to a buyer on CL that pays $5-$8 ea.

i found a small out of the way scrap yard that pays by the pound.
last time i took some in they payed $0.24/lb

i had over 700 lbs in batteries ......

No worries about throwing them away - worst case scenario, they'll be properly recycled.

Thanks to all for the input, very much appreciated!

I have made at least 20 bucks off the jerkoffs that throw them in my woods off the highway! I get about 5 bucks each at the scrap yard.

Scrapyards will buy them up.

Last year I took in 500lbs of sealed gel cell wheelchair batts and got about 100 bucks.
