Old car tool set: take a guess which one and which tools

I found this tool set. The owner did not know a lot about it but thinks that his father bought it in 1930s. The set is not at his home and he was not able to get me more information (will send me more images and names of the tools this week)

For the vintage car set gurus:
Is it possible to determine from this picture to which car they belonged and what (if anything) is missing?
If you know this set, then:
Which tool company made it?
What would you pay for this set? (I have a price in mind, but want to see if I am off)

Yes, but it would be way easier with a bigger picture.

It's likely Fairmount, but possibly Vlchek. I would think price would depend on whether or not you could tie it to a specific car. Otherwise, I'm frankly not sure what I'd pay. $50ish perhaps, without knowledge of what car it goes to.

Good choices, Todd. If they're all the same brand, I have some doubts about Vlchek (not sure they made hook spanners, and although I have seen exactly one Vlchek straight handled adjustable auto wrench, they are known for the distinctive sweep handle jobbies), but I'm with you on Fairmount, and I will throw Williams in the mix. They made everything in that roll-up. Maybe Billings & Spencer.

Back on the auto wrenches, why are there two, of very similar length? I've never seen that before, and it throws doubt on one of them being original to the set, and on the originality of all the tools to each other and the entire set.

1920's, maybe early 1930's based on the thick carbon steel wrenches.

Working in reverse (elimination), it's not Ford, and I don't think its Pierce (unless they had multiple sets with different tools).

EDIT: Also with Todd on value, maybe a little higher if they're all the same brand and finish. I wouldn't go into "original set" range unless it can be identified to a particular automobile.

If you look through automotive supply store catalogues from the 'model T Ford era', so to speak, you'll find quite a variety of 'generic tool kits', made up in cloth, leather, or canvas rolls like that one. The kits ranged from 'cheap' with only a few tools, to surprisingly large and somewhat expensive, with not only wrenches, but a ball-pein hammer, a set of punches and chisels, several sizes of screw drivers, pliers, and other useful tooling such as files and bearing scrapers. Some of the kits were made up to be specific for a common make of car, such as Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Overland, etc.

In the old catalogues I remember, the makes of the tools put in these made-up kits wasn't particularly mentioned. One might guess that the simple cheap kits had 'no-name' tools, whilst the better kits would have been made up from the 'standard' makes of the time, with such a Billings & Spencer or Williams wrenches, and other tools of similar 'standard' quality.

Curiosity kills the cat: can not wait till I get more information. I e-mailed the seller today again and will try to call him tomorrow if I do not get a reply.

My guess is that it is from the 20's due to the spanner wrenches. The small one for the water pump and large one for shocks. Beyond that I have no idea.

Unfortunately I still did not get any update from the seller. I spoke with him today - he did not have a chance to go and look for it.

...Sometimes you wonder - why do so many people post on CL and refuse to get any information about the product?
Seems to be happening all the time to me. Not that I am sending too many questions. The worst are the tool box owners it seems: can never answer if the draws work OK, if there is a key/if it functions and if there are any dents - 2/3 times can not get an answer (I do not ask about the dents if the pictures are good...)
