I had this old relic of my grandfather's stashed away in a cabinet and recently found it. There is no name and no labels on it anywhere. Looks to be 50's-60's? What the heck is it? :headscrat Pretty funny looking fender on it...

It's looking like maybe a Montgomery Wards Powercraft saw based on some others I've seen...

Unfortunately, Vintage Machinery doesn't do small handheld power tools like this. I have shopmate sander i've been trying to find info on. It almost reminds me of this one because of the same red knob on it.

They have the catalogs, so you should be able to find it there:

However, given the boxy design of the saw i would guess it's from the late 60s/early 70s, and they only seem to have atalogs from the 50s and earlier.

Wow, that brings back some memories.

It was a long time ago so I can't tell for sure, Wizard may be right but, back when I was a pup and working with my Dad remodeling old houses he bought, he brought a saw that looked a lot like that one day (we had always used a hand saw before), if I remember right, he bought it at Montgomery Wards. That thing was loud, shook and kicked back if ya bound the board any at all and in general, scared the bejeases out of me !!!!!!!!
