Old Coot Joining the Forums

I'm an old coot that has been maintaining his vehicles for over 50 years. Before I had my own car one member of our group had cars that barely ran. 1947, 1950, Chevys, Plymouths, etc. We spent all day Saturday fixing his car so we could go to the dance Saturday night. Then Sunday we fixed what failed Saturday night.

I try to do everything myself unless it is under warranty.
The biggest job I did in my garage was replacing a piston in a 1991 Ford Econoline van.

I also do all the house repairs.

This looks like a really great place with a lot of smart participants. I don't know how I haven't found it till now.

We need the wisdom of the coots! Tough time of year for me. My dad died the week after Father's Day last year. So, I have to find other fathers to guide me.
