Picked up some neat old sockets today.

A few vintage Cornwell 1/2" drive. Check out the lines down the side like two halves forged together.

Also this neat 1/2" drive deep socket Stamped Edison. Never heard of them. There are some old pictures of an Edison Spark Plug socket set on the web. This must have come from that set. Not sure who the mfr. is yet.

The style of script for the "Edison" name is identical to that of Thomas A. Edison and used on many of his company's products. Spark plug socket makes sense.

Very interesting those Cornwell sockets date to around the early 1920's, I have not seen the die breaks before.

Thanks for the info Woody. I wish the whole set was there.

only ones I've seen with die lines are hex drive. definitely neat.

I never noticed these before, but had I read closer the lines and roughness are mentioned at Alloy artifacts.

His sig on a socket, that is too cool. Thanks for posting that Tym. I found that Edison was a brand of spark plugs way back when.
No problem! Glad to help. Very cool find that you have there!
