I just sent him a note. I really don't have space or time for this but I know I will regret it if I don't take a shot at it. It looks like it has been posted for more than a day so I'm surprised that it is still available.

What more can you tell me about the variable speed function? I have never seen one before. Would this make it better for cutting thiner metals?

Well, my company email system blocks any email to Craigslist. (When I really want something, I try to use my corporate email address so I look less like a scammer.) I just sent another note.

If this guy does let me have it, do you guys have any tips on loading it into a SUV? It should fit and I'm sure it is sturdy but I don't want to hurt it by setting it on its side. I don't know if the guy would be able to help me.

Thanks exmaxima1! I got it. I need to head out and unload it before some storms pass through. It looks & runs great. Just look at how elegant the chuck key is. Nothing is manufactured to this quality level anymore.

Congrats, nice KS drill. If you do not mind, would you please post a closeup pic of the clamping pad (under vari-slo speed control knob assembly). I need to reproduce one like original, but cannot find one to copy.
thx,
amh
