old craftsman ignition wrenches

i found an old craftsman wrench in an old tool box i bought, it was a craftsman ignition combo wrench

the open end is 9/32 and the closed(box) end is 5/16.

what is the point of these wrenches??

The thin ends fit below the terminals on wiring nuts of coils and distributors, the sizes are for the many small nuts found in breaker point distributors.

Exactly! Those wrenches are for the points.

they are very useful for taking apart electronic equipment now that cars have replaced mechanical contact breakers with electronic components

I may be going way out there, but I believe ignition wrenches are for ignition components that deal with the igniting n system of an engine. Maybe I'm wrong, but my gut tells me other wise.

Just like real wrenches! only smaller! All I know is new ones look like junk compared to v series

They fit the nuts on the back of after-market gauges (Auto-Meter, etc.).

The old ones are nice. The new ones are stamped out **** but they do work. $20 though...
