Old Craftsman impact worth rebuilding?

I purchased this a couple years ago at a flea market for $20 and it worked decently enough, so I put it in my truck box. The last time I tried it though it had no power to speak of so I upgraded to an Earthquake impact. Is this thing worth attempting to rebuild, or should I just chuck it in the scrap pile?

I'd start by soaking it with air tool oil or MMO for a while and see if that helps performance at all. Second question would be can you even find a rebuild kit for it? Maybe a rebadge of a IR or other big name. It isn't a power house, especially for it's weight compared to modern impacts.

175 foot pounds is pretty anemic these days for sure, but if I could get it going for a few bucks I wouldn't mind having it as a spare. I haven't played with it yet, but I'm not sure oil will do much for it as I kept it fairly well oiled. Worth a shot though.

those weren't very powerful when new, for the price of the kit, you'd be money ahead with an HF Earthquake...I have that one, says CP under the sticker, had it since new. also have the better Cman Industrial, again, not very powerful sit in the box while the earthquake gets used...

I already grabbed a new Earthquake to replace it, so it isn't needed in a hurry or anything. Anyone got an idea about whether a build kit is available should I decide to try it? As if I need another project:rolleyes:.
