This Craftsman cabinet is in an estate I was asked to help sell. It looks like it might have been designed for a service station. Does anyone know how old it is or what it might be worth?

Doesn't look too old to me. I'd say 1980's era. Does it have doors for the upper sections?

Post up some additional pics. some of the Craftsman gurus will fill in the blanks for you.

Looks like its supposed to be drawers all the way up, look at the inside of the right hand bay. And the 'cabinets' wouldn't be even, see on the left the drawer is higher up.

I cant tell what the 'shelves' are though.

That's called a work center. It has shelves in each side of the top and drawers below to match the work bench of the same era.

It's only worth what someone will pay.

Those were called free standing tool centers. They are kinda a poor man's vidmar in idea. Built like their cabinet style work benches. The top bulk section looks right. That one is probably 80's, but I know they made them into the 90's.

Those are SUPER flimsy IMHO. Looks to have seen better days. If someone offers you anything >$~50 and will load it themselves, I'd go for it.

if i was buying $75 at least
selling $150

if all the drawers work good. May be light duty, but still pretty much getting 2 bottom roller cabinets worth of storage. Someone with limited space might want it.

Those look like the Craftsman work benches sold at Sears, possibly one stacked atop the other (though that might have been a factory configuration). There were probably different grades available, but they never impressed me with their sturdiness.

There has been one of those on the Shreveport craigslsit for about 5 months for $600 along with an equally overpriced similar Craftsman workbench for $375.

Light duty home use storage
I have one, bought it new.
It has served me well over the years. I use it so store all kinds of stuff I don't get into a lot like spare drill bits, power tools that get used only occasionally...etc
I always thought it was dumb to have the drawers at the bottom and the shelves at the top so I did all the drawer from the top and at the bottom I keep my cords and such
I wish they did an all drawer version but they didn't.
I think they were about $125 back in the day.
A later version they had of the similar model had BB glides

That one is rough, to me $50 would be high on it

Just stumbled upon this in an old brochure that was in a small case of my screwdrivers. I've looked at it a few time the last 2 years since I aquire the unopened case from my grandpa. I just used them today and looked through it again and seen it. I remembered seeing your post earlier in the week and reconized the cabinet.
I'd guess mid 90s due to the style of drivers, and that the brochure is all black and white other than the cover. Checked the date stamp on the driver VS the thread here on GJ and there is no dates for my code, "G WF"
this is the style of drivers I have
