I have an old 1/2" electric impact gun that needs a new cord. My question is can I just take it back to Sears? I know you can take hand tools back but just not sure about electric tools. I will post a pic when I get a chance. Any help would be appreciated.

Electric tools do not have a lifetime warranty; if you get the model # off the tool... you might be able to order a new cord here: www.searspartsdirect.com the model # usually goes like this ***.XXXXXX. good luck!
If you can't get parts; you could probably repair the cord with cord from a good hardware store too...

power tools don't get the same warranty.

But replacement cords with strain relief's can be had at any decent hardware store. Try in the section that has extensions and such.

I replaced my own with hardware store cords one on drill and one on skill saw after the cord somehow ran in front of the blade (for a second) bzzzzz
