I just gave this Table Saw to my son but when we tried to set it up we quickly saw that parts are missing from the fence .... What is missing and what should the correct set up be?

You may have better luck in buying a fence system to retrofit the saw vs trying to get parts.

I have a very similar saw, with a table extension on each side. It looks like the front guide rail has been put on incorrectly: it needs some spacers on the bolts fastening it to the table (spacer between the rail and table) so the fence can properly hold onto the rail, with its little viewing window lined up over the yellow measuring tape. Also, technically that rail should be adjusted to the right, so that the measuring tape has it's zero lined up with the blade, even though I don't trust those measurements. Also, looks like you're missing the rear guide rail.

Here's the manual if you don't have it. On page 6, the spacers are part R, rear guide rail is part E: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/480033/Craftsman-113-298051.html?page=6#manual

If you don't have those parts, as said above, some sort of straight edge with clamps should work fine... maybe even better than the original fence system lol, which can be a pain to line up.

Hope that helps, good luck getting it into action!

Best thing i did for my craftsman tablesaw was get a Delta fence system for it. Much better than what you have and extremely accurate.

Would you take a pictures of the other end of the fence. This side looks OK, it could be issue on the other end as "toomanyrouters" suggested, I have the same saw, in fact mine has missing handle, I use a star screw knob in place. It works but not very convenient. I have been searching ebay for the handle, or maybe just upgrade the fence for good.

Just took a look at mine, which is similar. The back rail is just angle iron, mounted to the back, flush, just like your front rail is. The front rail is spaced off about 10mm off the front of the cast iron. I can't reach it right now to see how long the spacers are.

I have an older Craftsman saw and also am having issues with the fence. After checking out prices of parts I am now looking at building a replacement completely. My options so far are from wood, there are some excellent plans available. Or a wood aluminum combination.

Funny I was just in the garage adjusting the fence of my craftsman. I waxed the rails where the fence sits and adjusted the height of the extension and rail so that they are not rubbing. My general feeling is that it is not a fancy fence, but it does work for simple home usage.46ac6e2147c4a072c95f540873512eae.jpg73e2944f6ac9c5aed00a82e6ef748502.jpg

Just took a look at my 113.298030, the spacers for the front rail are 0.5" long. This fence is not the best for daily use, mine requires a light "tap" to the right on the far end before locking it down to keep it parallel with the blade.

There is a Reddit community dedicated to these 113 series tablesaws called "craftsman113". Apparently I need more posts before using a link.

The Delta fence system mentioned in another post is a popular upgrade.

Same here

Is a Delta fence system a one size fits all kind thing or specific to each saw?

They're not saw specific. Mine required drilling holes in the Craftsman saw table that lined up with the holes in the Delta fence.
