I have a Homecraft wood shaper, it's a nice sturdy machine.

The Homecraft label was used by Delta/Rockwell as a "value" brand for homeowners. Similar to Craftsman using the Dunlap label for the same purpose. Still, those machines were built solid. I think that for a Grant, you'll end up with a nice little jointer. Post pictures if you get it. Don't forget to oil/grease the moving parts before you run it after you test the motor.

Who knows?
I'd get it.

I've got a real old one. Just have to replace the blades and she'll be good to go!

Post a pic up if you get it!

Depends, on condition and the work you want to do. They are nice little machines, but a bit limiting at only 4" width. They also made a few short bed 6" machines that went with a table saw combo. I'd keep an eye out for one of those.

Thanks guys,

The joiner seemed to make some noise but the motor was kinda loose where it was mounted below-- hence the belt didn't seem tight. Rotating the blades the shaft seemed very secure- no lateral slop.

Can the blades be flipped on this model and are they still available thru delta?

Thanks
