I have this old jack, probably Sears. I've been bleeding it and right now it pumps to 1/2 height, an improvement from 1/4 height earlier today. So I'll continue to bleed it. But I have a question.

What is the smaller plug that is sort of next to the jacking handle? The large one in line is the bleed & fill valve I know. The small plug will turn, and is snug.

Thanks, Alex

Let me try another question about this jack. Any ideas as to who sold this? I thought Sears, but nothing to identify the seller.

The metal label says it is a Hydraulic Trolley Jack, rated at 3000 lb., has a 15" lift, and is made in Taiwan. Age has to be at least 30 years as I've had it for 20'ish and it wasn't new. There is also a maintenance/instruction label, but no name. No serial or model # stamped on the metal label either. The pressure release is a screw next to the handle, not the handle that turns. The handle is not attached, just slips in. So probably a jack designed to be picked up and moved easier than one with an attached handle. So any ideas?

Ok, I think the screw I was asked about above is for the release valve.

Thanks for the info, I'll check them out if I need parts.

I just did a Youtube search: 30 year old trolley jack. Darn if there wasn't a hit on a jack is very similar to mine. It looks like a little thinner metal than mine, but the pumping action and construction is the same. No name, but a good find. He didn't need seals, but replaced the o-rings from a box selection rather than a specific kit.
