Ended up with it from a auction lot I bought last year. Not sure what to do with it. Wondering how much is it worth? It is in working condition. Thanks

That's an old farmer's slow-speed wet bench grinder with a GE washing machine motor. Some woodworkers like them for sharpening lathe tools, chisels and plane blades.

I use mine all the time to sharpen plane irons and wood chisels. Mine is a Prairie Brand--U.S.A. made. Looks like yours is also U.S. old iron. They are much in demand among wood workers. 83417948.kt2oujCC.jpg83417931.Ew4h51X4.jpg

You would probably do better selling it on CL rather than Ebay, because of shipping costs. Unless you specified "local pickup only".

Edit: There are two on ebay right now, listed under, "Wet Grinder Sharpener". The sellers are only selling the sharpener itself, which cuts shipping costs considerably, and the new owner can get his own motor and base. One is listed at $174.99 the other one is listed at $229.99. So good luck--those are good little machines.

Thanks for all the responses. Didnt knew this tool was in demand. Good thing I dont listen to my wife, who wanted me to not bring it home from that auction.

Thanks for the info. Ohio Blue stone should sell well in Ohio.
