I found an old riveting hammer recently. One side of the head is stamped "Germany".
The other side has this logo, which I can't identify. I looked through as many databases as I could find, no luck. Anyone? Thanks!

Per the orfice/viewpoint of those black-blotches in psychologist's books ; if the left portion of the logo is a 'Stylized R', there is a Roberts Co., Germany tack hammer on Ebay with ferrule head mount.

Thanks - I think all the Roberts hammer images I've seen have the full name stamped clearly on the shank or the head, and no round logo. But I suppose this could still be a Roberts, if the image actually has an "R" in it. I can't quite convince myself that it's an "R".

Maybe a cobbler working? Is that a cobbler's hammer?
There have been mentioned a number of possible users for these hammers - tinsmiths, leather workers, farriers, etc. The hammers that most folks call a "cobbler's hammer" don't really look like this. But what do I know?

OK, maybe stretch, but looks like Santa Claus working on a upside down boot with the toe pointing away? On a bench or desk with fancy "S" shaped legs?

The logo ID/Rorschach test is a logo ID/Rorschach test.

To me the O.P.’s tool handle has a lot of Roberts DNA.

As a novelty take a close look at the O.P.’s center picture; there the lower right ‘aberration’, previously seen as an S, to me appears to be possibly a 5. Not so much in the other magnified images in the thread.

Holding that thought; see the image at:

Again, as a novelty, there stamped into the head is; Roberts CO 5. Note the similarities to the handle to the O.P.”s

Interesting - thanks.
I agree that it has a lot in common with some Roberts hammers, but still, all the similar Roberts hammers seem to have "Roberts" clearly stamped on them, and not any round logo.
My eyes don't want to see that "S" as a "5". Too curvy.
I wish it were a Roberts - some are quite valuable.

When I saw the images in the first post, I saw a fat blacksmith doing something with something on the tail of an anvil. After reading all the posts, it might be a waiter hitting a table with a sewing machine, or maybe doing something to a dragon?

Going on the handles; wooden scales, three rivets, on a full length tang, pointed tip, and made in Germany - you have a Roberts Company hammer; somewhere else on their production time-line than the examples you have so far observed - especially those marked West Germany; likely made on new production equipment/processes in bombed out/re-built factories.

Based on the head, with the cross-peen, and two posters seeing a sewer/sewing machine in the logo; the logo/stamp might represent an upholstery business. As another check, if you could determine whether the logo appears worn off at the bottom or stamped obliquely; maybe pass an engineer’s rule/straight edge over the area. German tool makers of upholstery hammers don’t stamp obliquely; no Roberts hammer has yet surfaced with a logo.

O.P. have you been to:

Send picture(s) to them?
