-I was sent to the Ruhr area (Wuppertal, Solingen, Essen, Cologne, etc.) on a work assignment many times in 1995. This video was interesting to me as a trip down Amnesia Lane when I was a lowly toolmaker from Chicago touring Europe. Thanks for posting, I'll be looking for the sister video if it's still available.

Any Stahlwille or Belzer Germany Fans ?
I've always enjoyed collecting and using most German tools, then settled on Stahlwille and Belzer, the vintage older stuff being hard to find here in Australia. I used to work opposite FH Prager in Miller St. Pyrmont, NSW back in the mid 1970s, selling mainly German sourced tools. Show us what...

Interesting video, the hand tools appear to be of better quality than the cars/machinery made in the Eastern Block. While in W. Germany most of the opinions regarding E. Germans (and their products) were along the lines of "Our misguided cousins". The cars were roundly ridiculed and considered somewhat dangerous on the Autobahns. The Wall was coming down when I was there but never had enough time to travel from the Ruhr to The Wall and back in time to get to work on Monday. Thanks for posting the video.
