'and I think of him often, specially when I use his tools.'
That's exactly why I treasure the old tools I have of my Grandad's and Dad's and love to use them. Both of them were craftsmen in their own ways and anytime I feel tempted to do something 'halfast', I think of them and do it right. This always pays off. I have noticed with great satisfaction that this has also rubbed off on my sons, both of whom can do just about anything they want on a wide variety of things, including automotive equipment, musical instruments, computers and of course around the house. I'm now in the 'de-cluttering' process and plan to get some of those tools as well as mine along with scads of other stuff to them over the next few years. I don't know what I'll do with some of it and I'll have to post some pictures here to even know what some of it is

. However, other stuff like a 30" pipe wrench or a full set of 'spud' wrenches and nice brace and bit sets I guess I'll have to sell. I still use the brace and bit sometimes - it has an adjustable bit with it for holes of about 3/4" to I think about 2". But with today's great portable power tools there's really no need for it anymore.
I truly understand why some guys never 'de-clutter' - its because they can't stand the idea of getting rid of the tools they've accumulated and used over a lifetime. I really don't know how I'm going to deal with that myself. I have proved too many times that you'll never need that thing until after you get rid of it.
